Thanks for visiting our blog. Please bear with us while we restructure our various sites and pages. We'll be posting stuff as regularly as possible while we continue to work on it.

You've stumbled upon my blog which is the companion to my website Ishah 'El. This site is intended to track my progress in starting a new multi-cultural theatre arts company and bring updates to devoted supporters and curious by standers. Check here regularly for posts on what I’m up to and how it all is faring, and you can join me by posting comments & encouragement. With that I invite you to become friends and enter into my world of art, faith, life & passion. Shalom.

P.s.- This is actually 4 blogs rolled into 1... why? I don't really know. Some sort of strange urge to make it multi-dimensional caused me to lay it out this way, yet people seem to never realize that there is an index at the right which will take you to other interconnected pages. Feel free to explore and share with others!

birthday cards

Yesterday was my birthday & Cheryl, my wonderful creative wife, had several surprises in store for me. We had to live up to the tradition of grilling for Labor Day, so we had a celebration cook out on Sunday with several friends queing up for burgers, brats & beer. Yesterday attempted to go kayaking but upon arriving at the marina we discovered that they were no longer offering kayak rentals and the other local marina was closed on Tuesdays. We left our plans of kayaking for another day and opted for a drive in the country to a local farm stand where we bought fresh tomatoes, melons, spinach and arugula. Cheryl gave me several presents to hold me stable until the arrival of others, which included a beautifl hand made note book and these two cards:

my new granddaughter

Jolynn Shea Burke, born August 30th at 10:57 am (central), 7lbs 11ounces, 20 in long. She's beautiful! Welcome to the world, Jolynn!

Cena and I have been pals for about eleven years. Her name comes from La Cenerentola- Cinderella- because she was an orphan princess with cinder colors. Although she is really a very sweet cat, Cena doesn't like being held too much and she doesn't like having her picture taken. We have to force her to be social. Currently she's training for a sleeping marathon and puts in about 22 hours per day toward it. We think she's a winner anyway.
